What's a story without pictures? Words can only do so much, so I want to share with you some of the pieces of my past and some present.

Jonathon Lewis Cornett
(1834-1912)
My Great Great Grandfather. He served in the Civil War.

Lewis Cornett (1866-1913)
My Great Grandfather. He was killed by a falling tree during a storm. Some say he was out looking for Bear's Lettuce, a spring sallet that was dearly loved in the mountains. Granny had just given birth to my Uncle Frank and Daddy was about six years old. He was told not to tell granny right then. Of course he ran right into the house and told her! Granny dearly loved her daddy and she had had so many losses in her life.

Everyone here is gone now.
Back row: Mom, my grandmother, Aunt Lilly, & Pap
Agnes is standing in front of Mom & Daddy is kneeled down with my brother, Jake, standing beside him. Uncle Clarence is next & Uncle Ermon. His two children, Hershell & Frank, are in front. I was not born yet.

This is my Dad. Notice the ribbons & bows!

Mama, Lizzie Halcomb Noe was born in the log cabin. At the time the kitchen was located on the rock in the foreground. Later the little brick siding house was built with a kitchen, living room and bedroom. Grandpa would not stay in the new house but spent his time in the log cabin or on the porch in good weather. The back bedroom of the log cabin was papered with newspapers. I spent many nights there as a child and loved the newspaper walls.

My youngest daughter, born on my birthday, Feb. 20th

Minnie & Liz...my aunt and my beloved mama. Mama was born in 1911 and Aunt Minnie in 1913.

This was taken in Tway. My sister made the coat out of a man's suit for me, but unfortunately, I had outgrown it! My sister was getting ready to go to Midway JC and Hagert was going into the army.
